Make your own meal deal

How many times have you nipped out at lunchtime to pick up a meal deal? Though I know that they may be more expensive in other parts of the country, at £3 for a wrap, drink and a bag of crisps, they seem like an easy lunch. However, £3 for a wrap the size of your little finger, the dullest flavours of drinks and a bag of mostly air, in my eyes, is neither a meal nor a deal. Once you replace your daily meal deal with a flavourful homemade lunch such as this one, your waistline and your bank account will surely thank you!

Yes, you will have to meal prep the night before or in the morning. Most of the cooking time is in the oven. You just have to spend 2 minutes prepping, pop it in the oven and go get on with whatever you need to do. You can’t honestly tell me you don’t have time! And like I said before, your waistline will thank you.

Quite often, if I am looking at the meal deal items, I will get a wrap. They look like they would be better for you than a sandwich. We will not mention the crisps that come with the meal deal!

Calories & Saturated Fat

If you are calorie counting, you will be interested to know that this recipe comes in at around 207 calories per serving. A Tesco chicken fajita wrap is 381 according to their website. As for saturated fats, my recipe has around 3g whereas Tesco advertises 4g. If you are concerned about saturated fats, then just eat one!

Wraps

Lo-Dough bases are alternative to wraps that I have recently discovered. They are only 39 calories each which is a huge game changer for having wraps for lunch! The only downside to the Lo-Dough base is the fact that they are only online. Personally, I like to buy several packets of wraps and freeze them so that I don’t need to buy them as often.

Lo-Dough also offer a subscription service, so if you basically live off wraps like I do, then this might be a good option for you.
