This is such a great ice cream like dessert to curb those late night cravings! I am obsessed with Biscoff so anything I can make which involves including it as an ingredient.. believe me I will!

Milky bars really take me back to my childhood. I have so many nostalgic memories of adverts featuring the milky bar kid. I had a friend named Sol when I was a teenager. He had an uncanny resemblance to the Milkybar kid!

I was really excited to make a dessert including this white chocolate mousse. Let me tell you. It really did not disappoint! This particular mousse contains 10% white chocolate. This may not sound like a lot but is actually quite high for a branded chocolate mousse. You really get the Milkybar white chocolate taste when you eat it too. At just 85 calories per pot, if you’re calorie counting, this isn’t bad for sweet treat at all!

Frozen Milkybar mousse like ice cream with biscoff

What does freezing achieve?

If you put the mousse in the freezer overnight, the consistency changes to be more like ice cream. I prefer to eat the mousses frozen so I tend to freeze them as soon as I get them home from the supermarket. Whenever you get those late night ice cream cravings, you can have a pot without being tempted to sneak an extra scoop from a larger ice cream tub!

Don’t pretend you’ve never done it! Let’s face it, we all get those cravings so it is important to have ways of satisfying them while also staying on plan.

Those who regularly read my blog or follow me on Instagram know that I have created plenty of recipes just to have the excuse of using Biscoff. For me, this dessert wouldn’t be complete without a teaspoon of Biscoff topping sauce drizzled on the top.

Milkybar

When I read up about where Milkybar came from, I had not realised that it launched at the same time in both the UK and Switzerland in 1936. Nestle were then credited as the first brand of white chocolate!

However, Nestle didn’t start as white chocolate. Initially, Nestle made Nestrovit, which was a children’s formula. It was a condensed milk used to help kids get more vitamins. Using the same technology to create milk chocolate, they developed a solid tablet form of the milk. By doing this, they accidentally invented white chocolate!

Nestle realised not long after this that they were making non-medical versions of Nestrovit, and therefore Milkybar was born!
